Retro BBQ Apron for Father’s Day – May 22 Embroidery Club


If you would like to make a great gift for Father’s Day, then don’t miss this month’s Embroidery Club project. You can either make an apron or you can purchase a pre-made apron. Use the idea and designs to create a one of kind apron for your favorite “dad.”


  • 6 x 10 hoop or 5×7 hoop
  • ready-made plain apron
  • 1 yd accent fabric
  • scraps for applique’
  • tearaway stabilizer
  • embroidery thread to coordinate with design
  • 1 spool all-purpose sewing thread

From Your Sewing Room:

  • Embroidery Machine, power cord and foot pedal
  • Embroidery Hoop (make sure you bring the correct hoop size!)
  • Printed template of Design
  • Sewing Machine Feet: Embroidery Foot, Regular Sewing Foot, Edge Stitching Foot


  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Rotary Cutter
  • Marking Pen or Chalk
  • Seam Ripper
  • Pins
  • Tape
  • Embroidery Needle, size 75/11
  • Universal Needle, size 80/12
